For any idea “X”:
- Concept of X: What X is (definition, taxonomy, framework)
- Method of X: How to do X effectively (process, techniques, guidelines)
- Story of X: Why X matters/evolved (narrative, history, perspective)
- Practice of X: How to embody X regularly (habit, ritual)
1. Concept
Transformation Rule: Abstract the idea into its defining elements, principles, or taxonomies.
- Ask: “What IS this thing, fundamentally?”
- Focus on: Definitions, frameworks, distinctions, classifications
- Format: Usually includes clear definitions, key elements, and conceptual relationships
2. Method
Transformation Rule: Convert the idea into actionable steps or techniques for implementation.
- Ask: “HOW can this be done effectively?”
- Focus on: Procedures, techniques, best practices, common pitfalls
- Format: Often includes sequential steps, principles of execution, or concrete techniques
3. Story
Transformation Rule: Contextualize the idea within a narrative frame or historical development.
- Ask: “WHY does this matter? What’s its context or evolution?”
- Focus on: Origins, evolutions, cultural contexts, personal narratives
- Format: Typically includes chronology, thematic development, or cause-effect relationships
4. Practice
Transformation Rule: Design recurring activities that embody the idea (in community).
- Ask: “How can I/we DO/BE this (together) repeatedly for deeper meaning?”
- Focus on: Regular activities, community engagement, traditions, embodied experience
- Format: Often includes guidelines for regular engagement, communal aspects, and deeper purpose
